L’Oréal Wins 3 Awards at Prix d’Excellence de la Beauté

Three L’Oréal brands were recognized at the "Prix d’Excellence Beauty" awards ceremony.

The 20th Prix d'Excellence de la Beauté Award Ceremony was held in Paris, with Ariane Goldet, Executive Beauty Editor at Marie Claire France, serving as jury president. The members of the jury included 13 beauty journalists from the French and international press (Citizen K, Marie Claire Taiwan, Marie Claire UK, Votre Beauté, Marie Claire Brazil, Marie Claire USA, Marie Claire France, Madame Figaro, Cosmopolitan, Femme Actuelle, Marie France, Prima and Marie Claire Spain) as well as a dermatologist, a plastic surgeon and 2 trend experts. Ten winners were picked from the thousands of new cosmetic products that had been launched worldwide.

This year, three L’Oréal Group products were honored for their innovative, avant-garde qualities.

  • Platinéum, Complete Restructuring Cream SPF 15 from Lancôme
Twenty years of research have shown that a certain level of calcium in the skin is essential to proper functioning. Calcium deficiency in women aged 60-plus has visible consequences for the skin: it becomes weaker and so do its support structures. For the first time ever, the Lancôme laboratories have included HYDROXY(a)-CALCIUM™ in a cosmetic skincare product. This is the first formula to contain a form of calcium that is easily absorbed by the skin and intended to fight "dermo-porosis". The jury stressed that "it's not easy to come up with a global skincare product for women sixty and over. But Lancôme has established real legitimacy in this area and met the challenge."
  • Volume Shocking, 2-Step Volume Construction Mascara from L’Oréal Paris
"This is a really new product, with 16 patents pending!" noted the jury. L'Oréal Paris has developed an intense volume-enhancing mascara that increases lash volume by a factor of 12. It goes on in two steps. Step One: A special basecoat is applied with a brush featuring a “four hooks” system (patent pending) to separate and coat the lashes. Step Two: An ultra-volumizing top coat is applied with a comb. that leaves just the right amount each time so volume can be built up gradually.
  • Dream Matte Mousse Foundation: Matte-Perfect Mousse Foundation from Maybelline-New York
This patented formula combines a gelling polymer and ultra-soft polymer powders with natural-origin wax and light oils. The formula is stirred, whipped and micro-aerated to obtain an air-soft, soufflé-like foam. The jury noted that it delivers "even-toned complexion and a perfect matte finish…That's what we expect a foundation to do! Mission accomplished for Maybelline-New York."
