At a time when the second reading of the REACH project (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) is being debated in the European Parliament, the L’Oréal Group wishes to reiterate its backing of this necessary regulation, which is perfectly in line with L’Oréal’s sustainable development strategy.

For several years, prior to the publication of REACH, L’Oréal had already adopted a responsible approach to consumer health and demonstrated its commitment to environmental protection issues.

L’Oréal is conducting a large-scale programme aimed at updating its catalogue of ingredients used in the manufacturing of products. This undertaking is already making headway before REACH even comes into effect.

At present, the L’Oréal Group wishes to stress its priority commitments, which revolve around consumer safety, respect for the environment, the quality of marketed products and scientific innovation. These commitments drive growth and are a valuable source of progress.
